About The Role

As Design Engineer, you will report to the CTO. The design engineer is jointly responsible for the development of new products against agreed deadlines, based on market requirements and per set regulations as set out by the Product management team. As part of the R&D team, the Design Engineer is responsible in developing solutions for meeting the agreed functional, technical, and regulatory design requirements.

The Design Engineer is responsible for developing products that meet the internally agreed functional and technical requirements, as well as the established performance standards. In this role, you continuously keep your knowledge up to date regarding current and emerging technologies relevant to the assigned development tasks and the company’s products. All work is carried out within the defined time frames, with progress being reported periodically to the CTO. In addition, you ensure accurate tracking of operational progress in the designated company and development systems, such as ERP.

This company consists of two separate companies that joint forces. Together, they are the world leaders in maritime safety solutions supporting safety at sea. With its brands they form one of the leading brands in the maritime safety market.

They develop and produce IT and electronic equipment for the maritime markets. They have a solid reputation in the shipping industry thanks to our specialized experience in Voyage Data Recorders (VDR 'maritime black box') and position indication beacons. Their VDR products are assembled in their Zoetermeer office and all maritime products are sold by their own sales team through their distributors to shipping companies and shipowners all over the world.

Their office in NL is based in Zoetermeer and the UK office is based in Portsmouth. They are looking for strong candidates who like a challenge and are willing to go the extra mile to support and help their business to be successful.

Requirements

  • Preferably degree level or higher in Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience in embedded firmware and hardware design.
  • Experience with RF product development.
  • +\- 5 years of experience in similar role
  • Good command of English – both verbal & written
  • Team player+ ability to work solo
  • Good communication skills

  • A competitive monthly salary up to €6,000 gross
