About the position

Al As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will work on the technical foundation used to deploy, manage and automate a global SaaS platform.

This is not a traditional infrastructure administration role or a pure Cloud Architect position. You will actively build the tooling used to create, configure, update, migrate, back up and manage customer environments.

Kubernetes and containerization play an important role within the infrastructure, while Azure is currently the primary cloud platform. For backend development and automation, the team mainly works with Python and Go, alongside technologies such as Linux, SQL, Terraform, Puppet and Ansible.

You will take ownership of the full infrastructure lifecycle and continuously look for opportunities to automate manual processes and make the platform more scalable, reliable and efficient.

What will you do?

  • Develop and maintain scalable tooling for managing SaaS customer environments
  • Orchestrate containerized workloads and deployments using Kubernetes
  • Build systems for deploying and managing applications, databases and network components across global infrastructure
  • Develop backend and automation tooling, primarily using Python
  • Automate operational processes and create self-service solutions
  • Improve the performance, scalability, monitoring and reliability of critical infrastructure tooling
  • Work with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using technologies such as Terraform, Puppet and Ansible
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across Linux, cloud, database and infrastructure environments
  • Collaborate closely with SRE, Hosting, Observability, Developer Experience and software development teams
  • Participate in L2/L3 support and a rotating on-call schedule for complex or business-critical incidents.

Who are you?

You are an experienced engineer who does not simply want to maintain infrastructure, but wants to improve, automate and develop it. You enjoy working at the intersection of infrastructure and software engineering and prefer solving the underlying cause of a problem rather than repeatedly performing the same manual task.

Ideally, you bring:

  • Strong experience with Python, preferably for infrastructure, backend development or automation
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Bash
  • Experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration or similar technologies
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure, with Azure being particularly relevant
  • Experience automating and managing complex production environments
  • An interest in modern AI-assisted or AI-native software development
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical teams

About the organization

You will join an international software company that develops service management software for organizations across sectors such as government, education, healthcare and industry.

The organization employs more than 700 people across eight international offices, while its software is used by more than 10 million users worldwide.

The working environment is characterized by limited hierarchy, significant individual responsibility and close collaboration between engineering teams. Technology and innovation are central to the organization, with continuous investment in its SaaS platform, automation and the adoption of AI within both its products and engineering processes.

What do we offer?

  • Salary up to €125.000,-
  • 32 to 40-hour working week
  • 26 vacation days
  • Hybrid working, including a home office allowance
  • A pension scheme with employer contribution
  • A personal development budget for conferences, certifications, and courses
  • A Vitality Budget of €50 per month for sports, gym membership, or other things that contribute to your mental and physical health
  • Travel expense reimbursement or an NS Business Card, plus the option to lease a bicycle through the company
  • A senior technical position with significant ownership
  • The opportunity to work on an international SaaS platform used by millions of users
  • 10% of your working time dedicated to personal development
  • A personal development budget equivalent to 10% of your gross annual salary
  • A modern laptop and phone
